What I Use For Makeup

I’m not a beauty blogger. You won’t see me on youtube putting my makeup on or doing how to videos. But I will let you know what I use as its part of my routine.

Summertime in Texas is ridiculously hot, and I don’t venture outside besides weekly errands. The rest of the year, I try to get outside much more often. Playgrounds, walks around the neighborhood, and to the store. My point to this rambling? In the summer, my routine is limited to the weekends when I run errands, but the rest of the year is more frequent. I like to look good and feel comfortable, but I am not one to wear makeup if I am staying home.

I have been using BareMinerals for years now. I started with their powder foundations, and now I have two favorite liquid foundations. I also use their serums and moisturizers.

I use Simple face wipes to clean my face and remove makeup. I like that they don’t irritate my sensitive skin. Some other cleansers I’ve tried leave my face red and dried out. Simple cleans well with one wipe, and leaves my skin feeling clean but not dried out.

I use BareMinerals Skinlongevity serum and eye cream. These two keep my skin moisturized and looking young. They smell great and feel light on my skin. They also settle into my skin quickly so I can apply a small amount before my primer and makeup.

I actually have 3 of BareMinerals primers, depends how my skin is looking on which I use. This original primer is fantastic for everyday use. Very light, and blurring. Makes my skin look smooth under my foundation. I also use Blemish Rescue Anti-Redness Mattifying Primer. I fortunately have never had an issue with pimples, but my skin does occasionally get red patches. This is great for those days. Helps to even my skin tone, while still blurring for smooth skin. The third is Good Hydrations Silky Face Primer, which I use when my skin is feeling a little more dry than usual. All three are great and could be used on a daily basis for great results.

BarePro Performance Wear Foundation is what I am currently using. I find its a medium coverage, and you don’t need to use much to get the desired look of smooth flawless skin.

I also love the Complexion Rescue Foundation. I find this to be a more sheer coverage, and really light weight. It is easily buildable without being heavy.

Bareskin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer is great at covering the bags under my eyes! I also use a lighter shade and darker shade for contouring. Blends easily and feels light on my skin.

My new favorite shade of their eye color is Bahamas! Love this color! It’s light and summery, but buildable to create a nice darker fall shade. All their eye colors blend nicely and stay all day.

The All Over Warmth Bronzer can add a little bit of color to the entire face or use it to contour. I like that I can just a touch of color to my face when needed, usually to contour my cheek.

BareGlow Highlighter adds a little shine and slight tint to my skin. I use a tiny pea sized amount for under my eyes to my temples.

To set, I use the Mineral Veil. It’s a very fine powder that smooths everything.

I just started using their Dew Mist Setting Spray. I may have received a faulty bottle as it doesn’t spray very well. When it does work, it adds a shimmering glow to my face. But currently I’m a bit frustrated by the fact that it barely sprays anything so I hardly use it.

I like to keep things simple. My routine takes me about 15-20 minutes including giving moisturizer and primer a minute or two to set.
